A birthday full of lovely treats

Today and for a little while longer it has been/is my 38th birthday, ooooo.... that sounds sooooo old!!!!
I've had a lovely day, been spoilt rotten, had my mum and dad round for lunch, had visitors drop by and all finished off by packing for a few days away, can't wait!
Just thought I would quickly share a few piccies of the packaging my girls made/decorated for my pressies.
First up Hollie decorated a gift box that I very quickly made using my crafters companion.  She used a Little Musings image that I had got already printed off and in my box of images!
Then I made a couple of bag-a-lopes for Lillie to decorate, for this first one she has used an image from Simply Inger which was also in my box, coloured to match up with the paper she had chosen!
and using the same paper but a recycled embellishment which I had taken off of a past birthday card!
and what was inside these lovely packages??  This lovely selection of jewelery and corsage.  I am so happy with these (but I did choose them last week when we went shopping so I should be lol!).

Chairsma Cardz - Vintage

Good frosty morning!  Is it just me or is this week going really slowly?
Anyhow, it's Thursday which means a new challenge over at Chairsma Cardz and boy was it a challenge for me!  'Vintage' isn't something I attempt too often, think I made a few vintagey cards years back with Joanna Sheen images, but they aren't my thing!!
Still I purchased some mini xmas postcards years ago, have used a few but most are left in my box, so they got to see the light, out of all of them this one is the best.  Simply used a bit of matte holographic card, a couple of scraps of paper, some candy kisses and a blingy corner and I managed it, just wish I'd have used a cream card as my base instead of the white but heh ho it's done now!
We have 2 fab sponsors this week :
Bunny Zoe Crafts Nikki has very kindly donated a Magnolia Tilda stamp, some crochet flowers and xmas charms for our first winner.   and
All That Scraps who have for our second winner offered the choice of 4 stamps or 1 stamp set.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 126

Good morning, it's new challenge time for us at A Spoon Full of Sugar and the theme for this week is 'BOO' we would love to see your halloween projects!
My dt creation is the very first 'shoe' that I made (I showed my second the xmas shoes a few posts ago!).
and a view of the empty shoe!  These are so much easier to make with double sided card!  Less cutting and glueing!!
We are sponsored by Digital Delights who have very kindly donated a $10 gift certificate as the prize for one lucky winner.
There are fabulous halloween examples by all of the dt on the blog, and we also say a sad goodby to Marley who is leaving the team to concentrate on her studies.

I would like to enter my halloween shoe into the following challenges :
Top Tip Tuesday  which is 'anything goes'.
Fun at Fairy Knoll which is 'happy halloween'.

Well just a quick update on the weekends goings on!  Hubby took us shopping on Saturday so that he could get me a few birthday bits, I managed to get my yearly birthday pressie of a new pair of boots, and they were in the sale to!!!  Not allowed them yet mind you, have to wait until Sunday lol!!  Along with some more goodies, we got some more christmas pressies to, also with discount, which certainly helps this time of year!
Sunday morning was spent finishing digging the footings for the connservatory, needless to say hubby did more than me but I did do a fair bit!  Then after lunch I was manning the cement mixer!  Several dozen barrow loads of cement in I was flagging, my arms have stretched what seems like inches and still ache!!!  But at least we are now at the point of having the block work done, builder is coming to have a look tonight, I've requested he does the cement and lays the floor to!!

Have a great day!

Tomorrow we have a very busy day, not looking forward to it really.  We have left it until now to decide to put our connservatory on, yep the middle of October!  We have started digging out the footings and have a big muddy patch for a back garden, tomorrow I've been told I'm manning the cement mixer, oh joy!!!  Wish me luck!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 125

Good morning, time for a new A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge and we are heading for a 'winter wonderland'.
For my card I have used a Digi Stamp Boutique image, I think Milly is so cute especially with her very tuneful robin buddy!!  I edged the image with white glitter and also glittered the ground they are standing on!  Not sure what this style of card is called but I like making them for a bit of a change.
For all prize details and to see some wonderful examples from the girls please pop on over and check out the blog.

I would like to enter todays card into the Create4Fun challenge which is to use a digi stamp/image.

Happy Birthday & congratulations

A couple of cards this morning, trying to catch the challenge deadlines before I miss them!!
My first card is for the Secret Crafter who are asking for easel cards, my favourite style so I just had to take part!!  I have used another bratz image from My Inky Fingers blog, the red layer is a recycled envelope and the spotty paper/card is a recycled card!!
My second card is for the One Stop Craft challenge which is 'congratulations', this Mo's digi image was just perfect, pre-coloured to, I have glittered the confetti and the dogs party blower thingy!!
Our baby girl has gone of to school this morning looking all smart in her new school polo and sweat shirts (I don't normally buy them, as they have cardi's and white polo's).  She has been chosen as 1 of 4 children to act as ambassadors for their school, and are off to Tesco for a schools and clubs presentation!  The letter we got sent home, said that she has proved herself as a 'model pupil' how proud are we?  Her teacher told me that he is so pleased with her and how she is getting on, she is trying so very hard and her work is so neat, he remembers the weeks of her tears this time last year!  He thanked me this morning for letting her be a part of it, and I thanked him and told him it means the world to us that she was chosen from all of the other children, his response was she thoroughly deserves it.  I can't wait to see the photo's now, and will definately be buying the paper next week as she should be in there to!

As mentioned we are sponsored by Pink Cat Studio who have donated the prize of the choice of 5 digi stamps.
Our second sponsor is Simon Says Stamp who have very generously donated a $20 gift certificate as a prize.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges :

LOTV, Papertake & Cupcake combo

Papertake Weekly are celebrating their 3 year anniversary and would like us to use any of the challenges from the past 3 years! I have chosen 'monochrome madness' for my card, using a variety of different papers, a flower which I coloured blue to match the ribbon.
I have followed the sketch from Lili of the Valley and have used one of their die-cut images which I bought a while ago.
Also entering this for the Cupcake Craft challenge which is 'happy hour', not quite a cocktail but a drink none the less lol!!

Must dash, have got to make the icing for a cake I've made for my auntie and get it delivered before work!
Back tomorrow with a new Charisma challenge.

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 124

We are looking for lots of 'Sparkle and Shine' over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, so get your glitters, mirri board, sparkly papers etc out and get creating!
I have used a fab Bratz image which was a freebie from My Inky Fingers. For my sparkle I have used turquoise glitter glue on the skirt, and clear glitter glue spots on the image background and I edged the top and bottom of the card also, my paper is embossed and glittered to. My shine comes in the form of the 2 mirri stars which were stickers from a scrapbook pack I got from Poundland and I used a silver metalic pen for the belt and skates!

Our sponsor this week is our very own Nikki aka Bunny Zoe Crafts and she has very generously donated a £15 gift voucher for one lucky winner to spend in her shop.

Sugar Bowl challenge card

Here is the card that I have made for the current Sugar Bowl challenge, Lilian has provided us with a lovely easy to use sketch. I think the image I used is Maggie with present and is one of the very first Sugar Nellies! Just wish I hadn't spoiled it with the faux stitching border the pen bled a little bit so it's thicker than I wanted :0( Short and sweet post today, must dash off to work!
