Pollycraft & Pretty in Ink combi

This card as the title says is a combination of 2 challenges :
1) Pollycraft = 4,3,2,1 = 4 papers, 3 embellies, 2 ribbons, 1 image
2) Pretty in Ink = sketch.
I have used this fabby Greetings Farm image, I think she is a cheeky little monkey, and a bit of a tomboy, but cute to! The greeting tag is cut from a page in one of my pads. Hollie has been invited to Jessie's easter party (after easter) so I thought an easter card would be a bit late and it's not birthday, so this is kind of in between, I also had to add the bit of 2nd ribbon on the card somewhere lol!!

A Spoon Full of Sugar -challenge 97

Good morning and we have a new challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, this week we have a fun challenge with 'shaped cards' no squares or rectangles allowed!!
With easter only days away I have gone for an egg shape, I found a template somewhere during my blog travels, so printed it, cut it out and then cut out the shape again with some paper from an easter/spring pad that I have, just adhered this to the front of the card and added a few pretty flowers. I couldn't decide whether or not to put a greeting somewhere at the top, but left it off for now!
I liked it so much that I made another one, in purples! (not that they look too purple in this piccie!) For prize details and to see the fantastic shaped examples from the rest of the girls please check out the blog.
I would like to use my first card as my entry into the Cupcake Crafts challenge which is spring/easter and lots of chocolate!!

Sketch and Stash easter card

At last! After several problems uploaded photo's I have managed to get my card on here!
This is for the new Sketch and Stash challenge where we have been given another fabby sketch to work from.
I've used this sweet little bunny digi image, paper from a spring pad, new ribbon which I got from Tesco's on Saturday (part of a 3for2) and the flower sticker is from a pack I got from Poundland last year.
I would also like to use this card as my entry into the Colour Create challenge which is to use our own choice of pastel colours, and the additional extra option of easter or spring, think I've covered them all!!

Flower pot card, disco diva's and my daughter the talented writer!!

The challenge over at Project Tuesday is to make a flower pot card, so here is my first attempt! I think I quite like it, I think the buttons make it!
My eldest daughter entered a riddle writing competition through the school and yesterday we received a letter through the post saying that her riddle is going to be published in a book, 'My First Riddles'. What a surprise!! The book will be published the end of June and be in libraries and available for purchase. Her riddle was titled 'She's Hannah Montana' and reads "She's a sweet as a flower. She's as cool as a queen bee. She's as cute as a puppy. She's as lovely as a pretty flower. She's Hannah Montana." Here she is with her certificate and bookmark that was sent her!The girls had a Mad Hatters easter disco today after school, hats were optional

Charisma Cards -Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung for us over at Charisma Cardz so this week we would like to see some nice spring projects. The design team were very kindly sent the Coco and Friends digi images from Sally-Ann owner of The Digi Stamp Boutique (our sponsor for this challenge), believe me these are sooooo..... cute, see another image in my previous post! I have used downloaded paper and the text paper is from a pad I have and can't find at the moment! The lace is one of my bargain finds when I went to Skegness with hubby for our anniversary, it was 25p per bundle and I was chuffed to pick up some very pretty bundles!!! As I mentioned our sponsor is the Digi Stamp Boutique and Sally-Ann has offered the winner a
£5.00 voucher to spend in her store! I couldn't recomend the Coco and Friends set enough, like I said soooooo... cute!!
Don't forget to check out the girls projects over on the blog there is even more inspiration this week as some of the girls have made 2 examples, having already made one before we got the digi images!!
Have fun!

I would also like to enter my card into the Secret Crafter challenge which oddly enough is also 'spring has sprung'!

Easter wishes

A couple of easter cards to show today, first up is a card I have made using the Papertake Weekly sketch and a Pollycraft freebie image. This little duck family is so cute, I love how the ducklings are taking shade under the flower! The papers are downloads except the stripey bit and that was out of my scraps bag!! I added a bit of pink glitter to the flower to make it all sparkly, which means I can also enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp challenge which is 'Easter or Spring and some glimmer'.For my second card I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday, and used the theme of easter which qualifies for the Everybody Art challenge. I have used one of the gorgeous Coco and friends images from the Digi Stamp Boutique, trust me the rest of this set is just as lovely as this one!! I have a card which I'll show tomorrow using another of the images!
Well that's it for today, I've had Hollie off of school today poorly she had a high temperature yesterday evening and sicked her tea up last night, so that means 48hrs off of school. Mum and Dad picked her up for me which meant I could still go to work, and Dad is having her again tomorrow she can keep him company whilst Mum is at work. Watching Cbeebies drives them a bit crazy but I think Dad secrets likes some of the programmes lol!!! My children are really funny when they are ill, they are fine during the day, apart from a cough you wouldn't think anything was wrong with her, but it's always at night time it hits them, so I always find myself light sleeping so I can listen out for them! They have a school disco on Friday so she is hoping to back in time for that!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 96

Good morning, time for a new challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar and this week we would like you to make a bookmark!
I have made this bookmark for my eldest daughter Lillie, she is a very good reader and her teacher told us that she is in the reading age group of children 3 to 4 years older than she is which is terrific. She always has a book in her hand, well that or her ds!!
I have used a Sugar Nellie image and scraps of paper, the image I've created on the pc and is very apt for Lillie!! (well both my girls really!)For prize details and to see the girls wonderful bookmarks please nip on over to the blog, you won't be disappointed!

The other week at school, Hollie's class had an optional challenge to make a bookmark! First of all I tried to get her to copy my bubble writing and then colour it in, but having not long been writing normal letters this was too bigger challenge! So in the end she drew lots of pictures of flowers, people a house and the one on the end she informed me was a travelodge lol!!!
Well that's it, off to work in a while for me, it's curry day today which means the dining hall floor is going to be covered in rice! At least it's not my week to hoover lol!!

Hoppy Easter and Tweety Pie

Good afternoon, here I am again, not with 1 card but 2!!
First up is my card for Nicola's challenge over at Pretty in Ink using her lovely sketch. Not sure where I found this little bunny but cute isn't he?! The green and yellow spotty papers were downloads the horizontal strips are scraps. Added a bit of bling and heh presto another card complete!
The challenge over at Daring Card Makers is called 'Tweetie Pie' I couldn't believe it as I had coloured this image in earlier in the day! My Auntie and Uncle are moving on the 1st April so I've made this card for them. It's going to be strange them moving (actually to my town, very close to where I work, so can nip in for a cuppa!) as my Auntie has lived in the same village all of her life, born in the pub which Nan and Grandad owned, then married and lived further along in the village. All except 1 of my mum's brother and sisters have lived in the same village, so frequently pop in to see one another, so it will be strange for them for a while.
Anyhow back to the card, very basic really, another freebie image find, paper from a pad I have had for absolutely aged, some organza ribbon and the little dots in the circles are hole punches which I punched from a piece of corrigated card that I had!Well that's me done for another day, hubby is now home and I have no idea what to do for tea!! But one thing's for sure, I know we won't starve!! With our kitchen cupboards and freezers always stocked to brimming, we could give the supermarkets a run for their money lol! Same goes for toy, clothes, shoes, card shops etc!!! How bad is that!?!

Sunday 21 March 2010

Love you!

I have currently got a growing hole in my kitchen wall!! Not to worry though, hubby is putting a new door in which in time will lead into our conservatory, some time after the new kitchen is put in. It's being delivered on the 9th April and all going well will be fitted and finished by the Monday!! Well I say finished, we will then need to tile and lay a new floor, but the new kitchen cupboards etc should be done!
Anyhow, here is a card I have made using Nicola's fabby sketch over at Pretty in Ink, just turned it 90 degrees. I've used Nicola's Kelly with hot water bottle image and some paper scraps from my folder! Thought I would give it a love theme so am going to use this as my entry to the Cute Card Thursday 'happy anniversary' challenge to!Enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Hopefully back tomorrow with another card ;0)

Chairsma Cardz - something for the kids

Good morning, we have a new challenge over at Charisma Cardz and this week we would like you to make 'something for the kids'. I so wanted to make something other than a card for this challenge but mojo wasn't playing ball and ended up making an easter card! Just loved this little chappy in his bunny costume, reminds me of the little animal snow suits my girls had when they were teenie weenie lol!! Although it doesn't show too well in the picture I have made a z-fold card, I think that's what it's called, where you fold the front of the card back on itself. I kind of think the image is missing something on the bottom left corner, but just couldn't think what to add so I have left it for now, maybe I'll add the name when I decide who it's for! For all prize details, and they are fab as usual please check out the blog, and don't forget to take a look at the rest of the girls kiddie creations which are all fabulous!

Sparkle!

Here is my card for the current Pollycraft challenge which is 'sparkly things' I have used the fabby duck freebie image, isn't it just so cute!? For the sparkle I have glittered the icing on the top of the cupcake and added a few gems! I have also used the sketch from Sketch and Stash, just changing the oval for a circle shape for the image! Obviously the image is my new stash along with the lace, the paper is fairly neglected, I've used almost all of the pad except these sheets with the cupcakes on so it was nice to use them at last!
sparkly icing!Paula is on the look out for new design team members, so here is my card no.2 using the 2nd of the freebie's which she so kindly gave us. I didn't think this one needed too much other than the paper and image as the paper is quite pretty I didn't want to cover too much of it up, so just added the crossed ribbon, a charm and a couple of beads.
and here is another card I actually made at the weekend. Using 1 of the 2 gorgeous freebie's from Crafty Musings. I have followed the sketch from Friday Sketchers.
after taking this picture I decided that this would look lovely as an easel card, so chopped the back of the card off and added it to another card base thus making it an easel card! I would like to enter this for the Secret Crafter challenge which is anything goes!

A Spoon Full of Sugar - Challenge 95

Good morning and it's time for a new A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge, this week our theme is 'Easter'. We would like to see easter creations of any variety!
I found this fabby freebie image on my blog travels (apologies, can't remember where from), I just love his happy expression and that great big pile of eggs!! I have lightly shaded the bunny around the edges which doesn't show up too well on the picture, maybe a good thing as it's not too good lol!! The egg embellishment is one from a pack of stickers from Poundland last year!
We are sponsored by Whimsy Stamps this week and Denise has very kindly donated the following prize to the winner We look forward to seeing your easter creations, don't forget to check out the blog for the rest of the girls wonderful inspiration.
It doesn't seem possible that easter is only a short time away, yeah 2 weeks off of work (but no pay) fingers crossed we will get nice weather this year so the children can run around the garden doing their easter egg/sweet hunt! Which takes myself, hubby and my sister ages to hide around the garden and the 4 children minutes to find!! It's all fun though!
Have a good day, I'm off to work shortly, getting a bit of overtime in as 1 of the girls is off sick. Every little helps!

A day with the Twiggles, Boggles and the Thorny Crocklebogs!!! Photo overload!!!

Well today started with pressies and cards from my girls, nothing crafty but then I didn't ask for anything! I got a musical mug, and apron, a nightie, a candle, handmade a bought cards and a day out!!
Yes for a long time now I have wanted to visit Bewilderwood which is near Wroxham, and as mum's got in free today being Mother's Day we thought as it was a nice day we would give it a look.
WARNING there are lots of piccies as I couldn't decide which to show, this is just a few of those that were taken!!!
The girls got to make a Mothers Day card and a flower, which they thoroughly enjoyed, I enjoyed making the flowers to lol!!
the girls with their finished cards!
The twiggles houses were wonderful, would've liked there to have been a lot more really! I want Matthew to makes us some for the garden!

This was fun!
building the den
Hollie thought the den was so comfy she went to sleep lol!
Lillie took this lovely piccie of me and hubby.
Matthew and Hollie hiding from Lillie who was taking pictures! It was the first time since their birthday party that she had used her camera that she got for her birthday, so she was taking pictures of anything and everything!!
OMG here is a piccie of me on one of the many climby things, the whole park is like this! So much fun for the kids, and quite fun for us oldies to!! We had just gone round and round and round the maze to try to get to the middle to come accross this bridge and out of the gate at the end!
I just loved this sign, it made me smile!
One of the many seats made from twigs and wood cut offs, they were all over, so clever, so simple to make if you have the imagination!
A pose from the girls!
This wall so reminded me of the sucker punch wall on the Saturday night Richard Hammond programme which's name I cannot remember!

That's it, thank goodness I hear you cry!! It really was a nice day out, helped by the nice weather, we had a few spots of rain after lunch, but when the sun was shining on you it was lovely and warm. The park was a little pricey, hence the reason we went today so one of us got in free, the only thing we wished that there had of been were some of the actual Twiggles and Boggles characters. But any child who loves to play would absolutely love it.
We called in at my mum and dad's on the way home, gave mum her pressies, and had a lovely turkey roast for tea. Just perfect!
All in all a good day!
