My Papertake weekly card

Here is the card I have made using Dawny's sketch for the Papertake Weekly challenge. I had this Sally-Ann download image sitting at the side of my desk and at last it just seemed to fit the shape of the sketch perfectly. The dp with the pretty flowers is by Dovecraft and is called Amethyst-floral prints, I like how the creep up and around the image from the corner of the card. I've made some more cards but these are DT pieces so will have to wait until Tuesday to see one of them!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend //*_*\\

The Sugar Bowl and a Cupcake!

First up is my card for the new challenge over at The Sugar Bowl, we have been asked to make a christmas card!! This is not my first of the year either!! It only took minutes to put together as I had already coloured the image back in December and never got around to needing it!!This next card is for the current Cupcake Crafts challenge following the sketch provided. This is my first time of entering a card for this challenge blog, and you don't actually need to use cupcakes on your work, seeing that I have the cupcakes download from Grab a Doodle Do I thought why not!!

I have made a card and a scrapbook page this week, aren't I good!!
Scrapbook page (the photo's are of my girls meeting our new 'pet' donkey lol... I won him last year at a fundraiser!)
I have used a fun Whiff of Joy image for my card and the sketch from Sketch Saturday

We are also welcoming Claire onto out Design Team isn't that fab!
Our sponsor this week is Fingertip Crafts and they have kindly donated a fabby Diminity Mouse 'celebrations' stamp, oh it's so cute!!

Hoppy Birthday

A bright and cheery 'Hoppy Birthday' card today which covers 3 challenges!
Dutch Dare are asking for a 'green and yellow' creation
Daring Cardmakers want us to use a 'fish or a frog'
and at My Time to Craft there is a fab sketch from Becky to follow.

The frog is a shaker sticker from Innovations which I've had for a while and not sure how to use it or what to use it on, but I think it's made a pretty ok and fun card the little flies/wasps came in the pack to.

My card for the WOJ challenge

Here is my card for the Whiff of Joy challenge which is to use the sketch designed by Katharina. I've used another of my WOJ spring kit images with papers from the Papermania simply elegant pad and the pink floral is a freebie download. I've added the gold decorative button to the middle of the flower to pick out the gold edging of the ribbon.

A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge 40

Our challenge this week at A Spoon Full of Sugar is called 'Shapeshifter' we would like you to make a different shaped card or project, something other than the usual square or rectangle!

For my card I sliced the front of my card in half diagonally (like the card in an earlier post, although I did actually make this one first!!) I figured I shifted the shape a fair bit by doing this! This image is another of my new WOJ spring stamp kit, actually 3 of them (the girl, the log and the butterfly).
We have a fab prize of 2 cute easter stamps from Alota Rubber Stamps kindly donated by Helene.

We are also welcoming 2 very talented new members to our design team and these are Caryn and Karen.

A scrap page for Sketch and Stash

When I saw Becky's sketch for the current Sketch and Stash challenge my first thought was to do a scrapbook page, as I was worried about using 2 images on a card, more which 2 to use together. I took some photo's of my girls when we got home from the wedding at the weekend in their pretty dresses and these were just perfect for my page. The sentiment reads 'You are my everything' which although they drive me round the bend they and their dad really are my everything!

A busy weekend

On Saturday we went to my friend Mandy's wedding, we had a lovely time, here is a piccie of my 3 lovelies after the ceremony
another posy pic of my girls, they kept being told how very pretty they looked to which they nodded and agreed, and one man even asked if they were bridesmaids!! They look as though butter wouldn't melt but believe me it sizzles!!!!Yesterday we took them to the farm as our season ticket runs out in just over a week, this was our last chance to go. They had advertised saying that the lambing had started and I just love the cutie little lambs, here is Hollie feeding a little cutie who is only 2 weeks old
and this made us laugh so much, a multi legged chicken!!!!Back to school again today, Hollie couldn't wait bless her she was dressed before she came into my room which makes a change, Lillie was a little more awkward but that's nothing new, lord only knows what she'll be like when she reaches her teenage years!!!

Friday Sketchers card

Here is my card for Friday Sketchers, I have used one of my new WOJ images from the stamp kit, I have sliced the front of my card in half diagonally to get the effect of the sketch, I have put a '7' in the top right where the sentiment should be as I thought I could either give this to my nephew of any of Lillie's school friends as they will all be turning 7 this year, wow doesn't seem like yesterday we were dropping them off for their first days at nursery!! We've just had a chinese take-away for tea, not quite the same as going out, but not worth if hubs wasn't going to enjoy it with a bad head.
I won't be posting anything tomorrow as I've got a few things to do before my friends wedding at 1pm and if I get on here I just know I will be running late, not that I won't anyway!!!

Have a fun weekend whatever you are doing, hope to catch up on Sunday.

Happy Anniversary card

It's our 7th wedding anniversary today, funny how it seems so much longer than 7 years ago that we were in Gretna Green getting ready to tie the knot over the anvil at the 'World Famous Old Blacksmiths Shop' at 2.02pm! After being filmed and interviewed by the local news for a piece later that evening that is! Also being on 'Richard and Judy' via phone conversation the night before!! You see we married on the 20-02-2002 the date a pallendrome reading the same backwards and forwards, a very special date that only comes around every some many hundreds of years!!

Although I gave hubs a shop bought card (always buy them for the words!!) I also very quickly made this card for him last night, so that he had a handmade one to!! I saw this design on my blog travels and just had to 'borrow' the style as I thought it was lovely!

We should be going out for a meal tonight to our favourite chinese restaurant but not sure whether or not we are still going, as hubby is having big trouble with his sinus's and has had a terrible headache for the past 3 days. He says we can still go, "we have to go out it's our anniversary" but I really don't mind either way, not going to be too much fun for him if he isn't feeling well.
We have my best friends wedding (oh I love that film Lol!) tomorrow so I would rather we stay in tonight and he feel better for that tomorrow. Who knows, will have to wait and see.

Charisma Cardz -challenge 7

Wow we are on week 7 already over at Charisma Cardz time has flown by! Carly chose the theme 'Hugs and Cuddles' this week, so for my card I used one of my older Sugar Nellie images (sorry can't remember the name of it). Lola is giving her little bunny a cuddle just like I used to mine when I was little, now we have 15 guinnea pigs!!

We have a fantastic prize this week, oh if only I could enter myself!! We have over £80 worth of Cosmic Shimmers to give away to one super lucky winner, these have been very generously donated by Paper Angels.
Carly has asked Sharon to stay on as a permenant member of the design team and she has accepted which is fab, and we would like to welcome both Lyndsey and Joy as our guest designers for the next 8 weeks.

I am also entering this card into a couple of challenges as I think they fit the bill for Secret Crafters theme of 'Spring has Sprung' and also Cute Card Thursday whose theme is similar 'Signs of Spring'.

Some Blog candies

My dear friend and fellow ASFoS designer Jacqui (Cats Whiskers) will soon be celebrating her birthday and is also celebrating passing 54,000 hits to her blog. Jacqui has 2 fabby candies up for grabs, more details see here.

Bev is also offering 2 scrumptious candies to help celebrate reaching a whopping 150,000 hits to her blog, for details see here.

Steph is also tempting us with a fab candy to help celebrate her passing 10,000 hits to her blog, see here.

Sugar Bowl card

Here is my card for the Sugar Bowl challenge which is to use one DP, I was unsure what to put in the right hand corner until my youngest came and looked at it and said "I know what you are going to put there, a bow!!" and there it is one bow which I think finished the card nicely!!

Tuesday 17 February 2009

Image folder cards

These are the image folder cards that I made for the PIF I did recently. I added the image so that the bottom was level with the bottom of the folder so that it could stand up like a card.

A Spoon Full of Sugar -challenge 39

We have a fabulous sketch designed by our Debbie for you this week at A Spoon Full of Sugar
It's such an easy sketch to use and I know I'll use again many times.
Here is the card I've made using my Bella image (if only I looked half as good whilst sitting at my desk Lol!) and the papers are from my new Papermania 'sweet nothings' paper pad, ooo.... they are scrummy! Not too sure the gems in the corners of the image look right but too late to take them off, and I stuck a few different colour and sized gems to the spots on the top left panel as I thought it looked a little bare.
We are sponsored by Roses on Paper this week who have very kindly donated a $12 gift certificate for one lucky winner.
Our Guest Designer is Kelly wow her work is fabby, to see Kelly's card and the rest of the teams gorgeous cards nip over to the blog ou won't be disappointed.
We also have some sad news that Trina has now left the design team as she is very very busy at work at the moment. Trina good luck with everything.

A couple of super fast mini Valentine's

Lillie was a bit disappointed not to receive a Valentine's card this morning, Hollie (4) got one from a little boy called Henry from nursery aaahhhh...!!!! So I made these 2 super quick little cards for them with bits from my DT pack from Carly, which I gave them with a choccie heart and Daddy bless him came home with a bunch of flowers for each of us after he had had his hair cut!
Matthew and I don't really bother much with pressies, he was going to get some flowers delivered but I stopped him and said I would be much happier with a bunch from Morrissons on Tesco than paying a phenominal price at a florists. He got me a card and what looked like a keepsake box with a lovely poem on the back, then when I opened it there was a sweet little angel inside which was a nice surprise for both of us! I managed to track down some chocolate hearts which I put int the box I made for an earlier Charisma challenge. I'd also got a bag of wine gums and jelly babies (his favourites) but didn't want to just wrap them, so last night I very quickly made up this simple bagalope. The girls are having a sleepover at Nannie and Grandads tonight and we are off to the pub for a meal.
Hope you have a lovely day whatever you have planned.

Flashing my undies!!!

Not not the ones I wear before you start getting worried Lol!!!
Carly the 'boss' at Charisma Cardz has set the DT our 2nd challenge, crumbs what a toughy, we're not allowed to make anything that's a circle, square, triangle or rectangle!
So here is what I came up with, I made some of these ages ago and when I did a demo for the 'WI' they found them very amuzing!
I've made hubby a pair of pants and there's also a pair of saucy little black and red panties!Something a bit fun!!

A wonderful surprise parcel!

I missed a delivery from 'City Link' yesterday as I went straight into town after dropping the girls at school. I couldn't believe it of all the days to deliver me something it was when I was out! I was convinced it was my spring kit from WOJ and kept kicking myself thinking that I could've been stamping up some lovely new images. But the card said they would try again tomorrow (being today) yipee!
So with the girls ready for school this morning, I wrote a note to stick to the front and back door explaining I would only be a couple of minutes, to please wait as I didn't want to miss them again. I'd no sooner put my pen down and there was knocking at the front door! We use the back door, so I was dashing about getting the door open whilst shoving my feet in whatever shoes came first, and dashed round to meet a big strapping delivery man who was holding a 'huge' box? mmmmm.......that can't be 10 rubber stamps? what on earth could it be?
So I put in on the kitchen floor ready to open when I got back from dropping the girls at school, but temptation got the better of me, so I opened it, and to my surprise and whoops, and giggles and jiggles, this is what was inside >
A Xyron Creative Station with 6 cartridges (1 laminate/adhesive permenant, 1 laminate/magnet, 1 two sided laminate, 1 adhesive permenant, 1 adhesive repositionable and 1 laminate/adhesive repositionable)
Wowzers......!!!!
I have no idea how it works but am looking forward to playing with it when I get the time! There is no note with it, but I do remember entering a competition through my craft magazine! I'm still in shock, it's the biggest thing I've won since my donkey last year!!! Oh that and hubby's heart over 8 years ago!!!!!!!!!

We have snow again!

It started this afternoon as Hollie and I walked to school to collect Lillie just after 3pm, there was the odd teeny tiny flake but you had to look hard to see it! We hadn't been home long and it was snowing big flakes and quite hard and started to settle quickly.
These picture were taken after we returned home from parents evening and a quick shop at Tesco's, approx 3hours of snow!
I think the girls playhouse (one of Daddy's masterpieces) looks lovely with a bit of snow!!
another of Daddy's masterpiece's is the 'guinnea pig palace!' and the daft pigs seem to have spent more time out in the snow than in normal weather. They were furraging under the hay which had a pile of snow on it last Monday, you only knew they were there because the hay kept moving!!! I have pointed them all out and named them, but you'd have to click on the piccie to see it!! It's still snowing so I'm guessing there'll be no school again tomorrow!?!
