Summer Days and not a very nice find!

Here is a card that I very quickly made this morning using a Mo's Digital Pencil image which I had coloured a couple of days ago.
This covers the following challenges :
1) Meljen - circles galore
2) One Stop Craft - monochromatic
3) Pollycraft - bold and bright
4) Project Tuesday - easel card
5) Sir Stampalot - Lazy hazy days of summer
Hubby and I have been busy tiling my parents bathroom for them, we started with cutting the floor tiles on Friday evening, laying them on Saturday afternoon and then spent ALL day Sunday tiling the walls. Yesterday I went over after school and hubby met us when he had finished work then we set about grouting the floor tiles. He left for home before us as I was sorting out an order for school uniform (mum works in M&S!). We found hubby waiting for us on the path outside the house, only for him to tell us that someone had attempted to break in to the house and that the police were on the way!!!!!!!!!!!!! They had tried to knock the bottom panel out of the door with a paving slab and a good kick, thankfully it seems we have a pretty tough door! I spotted a little while later when speaking to the police that they had also had a go at getting into the garage, our double wooden doors are literally facing the gateway/road, they had no joy there either because hubby has it not only locked but all fixed up on the inside to. I cannot believe that people attempt this sort of thing in broad daylight it was 6.30pm for goodness sake!!! The lady accross the road saw someone acting odd when she was hanging her washing out and asked her partner if we had an older son, I just only wish she'd have watched for longer, but she has given a discription and it is exactly the same as someone reported going in and out of properties/gardens over the weekend. Sadly there were no finger prints when the crime investigator arrived this morning as gloves were worn!!!
The girls were a little unsettled last night, but tiredness got the better of them, and it was nice of the policeman (who was rather lovely I might add) went and had a chat with them to put them at ease.
Here is the damage to the door, it doesn't look much in this piccie but had they have made a hole straight though they could've knocked the panel out and gotten in. and here is the slab they used! They had also had a go with a metal bar which hubby had got in the trailer! They had even been in the guinnea pig shed!!!!!!!
So you never know who is about, be careful. Don't go out and leave doors unlocked as some of our neighbours do, I know I won't even be leaving my door open when I go up the stairs!! The police said these ar**holes will literally knock on a few doors, if someone answers they'll ask for directions, if no one answers they'll have a go at getting in. Hopefully they have tried and given up with us, I feel sorry for their next victims.

Gorgeous card Joanne, love those summery colours!

What a scumbag (that is the polite way of putting it), you are right they are everywhere, in every town. We got broken into last year when we were all in bed, they smashed a side window to our house, stupdly they woke up up with the racket they made and only made off with my kids mosque and school bags LOL they would have had a shock as it is all in arabic haha!!

Anyway, hope your kids settle down soon and it doesn't upset them too much.

Oh my goodness Joanne how awful for you and your family but how reassuring that they didn't get in or it might have been a different story I shudder to think the damage they would have caused inside. However, I am so loving this card the image, design and colour is beautiful thank you so much for sharing this with us at both OSCC and Sir Stampalot.
