Sugar Nellie -Jingle Bells

I have finally stamped up my Sugar Nellie 'jingle bells' stamp that I purchased quite some time ago, I've been hanging on hoping for a reindeer or 2 to go on the other end of the reigns!!! I thought this image was just perfect for the sketch over at Sketch Saturdays, that way I could use up some of last years left over christmas paper.

I used both watercolours and pearl paints again on this image, and for the snow I've used glistening snow writer and spread it out a bit, there is lots of sparkle!

A Spoon Full of Sugar -challenge 15

Thank you to all who took part in last weeks 'anything but a card' challenge, there were certainly lots of fabulous ideas and things that I want to have a go at!

This week A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge is to use a sketch designed by our fellow team member Nikki it's a fabulous sketch to work with, so much so that I made 2 cards straight away, but am only showing 1 now!I made a nice bright card for this challenge, and used my very pretty Sweet Art Ebony stamp from Sugar Nellies. I coloured the image using a mixture of watercolour pencils and pearl paints to add a pretty shimmer to her outfit. Finished off with a variety of coloured buttons, flowers and a pretty blue organza bow.

The very generous Bryony from Silly Monkey Crafts has donated this weeks prize which is all blue and christmassy and really looks lovely, so nip over (link on the right) make us a card, remember you can now use ANY stamps, and you could be the lucky winner who will be chosen at random in a weeks time.

Rain rain go away!!

This was our front garden a couple of hours ago after one heck of a downpour

and the water running down the road like a river!this should be a path!we are very lucky and apart from a few puddles you wouldn't know it had happened. Sadly for some people that live in a bit of a dip just up the road from us the story is different and the fire services are there pumping water from their homes. How awful it must be for those that get hit a lot harder, I just can't begin to imagine it.

Couple of quick piccies to finish with, this is Lillie looking cool in her new specs! (won them at the party from the piniata (spelling?)

and being brave holding a small lizard (skeet I think the lady said!)
I held a bigger lizard (blue tongued skeet I think) and a parrot, but kept well away from the tarantula ugghhh.!!!!!

Last picture is of the quick card I made for the little girl whose party Lillie went to today, I don't have any Sarah Kay stamps so found some clipart images and printed them off! Now off to catch the 2nd half of Soccer Aid to watch Danny Jones from Mcfly bless him he is doing very well, hope they keep him on for the full 2nd half.

A 'pink' card and a couple of pyramids!

First up is the 'pink' card which I have made for Cute Card Thursday's challenge, I must admit the image has been coloured and sitting on my desk waiting to be used for weeks! I stamped the greeting a little too far down than I had wanted (must get acylic blocks so I can see where I am stamping!) so I added the adhesive gems around it and one in the top right corner, hope it looks ok?

Next up are my pyramid cards, yes my 'new style' thanks to Jackie for letting me know how they are made! They are something a bit different and I think I will be making several of these in the future, you only need 3 squares of card, then decorate them. this chritmassy one was my first attempt, as instructed I used 2 coloured card, but was stuck for a co-ordinating paper so made gold swirls with a gel pen, and the topper is the front half of a gift tag!!this was my second attempt, I used the same coloured card all round for this one and also added patterned paper to both sections, think I like it!!Last up is the little card I mentioned not being able to post yesterday, my nephew thought it was 'cool'.

Back to school with ease!

Lillie was fab this morning, she got ready for schoool without any fuss whatsoever, I was so pleased as we have had many mornings in the past where she had been a complete nightmare and really pushing my buttons. We were in the school yard with time for her to catch up with her friend Lily with whom they compared school bags/bags etc, then as the bell rang they all got into line where she chatted away to her old friend Neo. I couldn't believe that not one child made a fuss, and they all came out this afternoon with smiles on their faces. I'm sure Lillie hasn't told us all that she has done today but has told us her new teacher is 'fantastic'!!!!! Let's just hope that her new love for school continues!
I've made 3 cards today but 1 I can't show until Tuesday for the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge. The other 2 I haven't taken photo's of yet, but am really excited with them (new style).
I was going to show a card I made for my nephew but my pc has been playing silly beggars ALL day and is driving me crazy.

I've only gone and joined Facebook, I had joined a few months ago but never actually requested friends, so after being persuaded by my sister and old work colleague, I've given it a whirl! Another addiction I feel.!!!

Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures tomorrow.

A Spoon Full of Sugar -challenge 15

Thank you to everyone who entered last weeks challenge over at A Spoon Full of Sugar, it's wonderful to drop by your blogs and look at your creations. This week we would like you to make 'Anything but a card', now this was one of my ideas but when it came down to it there were so many different things I wanted to make, but couldn't find the inspiration to put it to work! In the end I played safe and made a door/wall hanger for Lillie to give to her friend (Ashleigh, you'd never have guessed would you?!) along with her present when she goes to her birthday party at the weekend.

I enjoy making these as you can dress them up or down as much as you like, and it's a great way of giving a personalized gift.

Spooky!

Spooky indeed, I made a halloween card (don't normally send them) it just seemed to fit the Friday Sketchers sketch perfectly! The 3d stickers I've had since last year when I was well into making and swapping atc's, but haven't made any for ages so they've just been sitting in a bag. Realized the red ribbon would've been better further down then the word 'halloween' would have been visible, I tried to peel it off put it was lifting the paper so had to leave it where it was.
Then I altered a mini notebook which is my entry for the Penny Black Saturday challenge 'no cards allowed' and used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. You can't really see the semi circle as the colours of the papers are so similar, but there really are 2 papers (spotty and flowered)

We went over to my mum and dad's for lunch yesterday mmmm.... roast lamb my favourite!! Apart from delivering my cakes that was about it we had a lazy Sunday for a change!
