A Spoon Full of Sugar -challenge 58

This week at A Spoon Full of Sugar we are taking advantage of the hot and sunny weather we are having at the moment and would like to see 'Summer' themed work.
So for my card I have used bright summery colours, I went with oranges, yellows and blues as I had this scrap of dp in my folder, the image is a Sugar Nellie (sorry can't remember the name of it by it's an Elisabeth Bell design).

We are sponsored by the Cutting Cafe this week and Regina is very kindly offering the winner 3 sets from the cafe site!
The girls have made some gorgeous cards, I simply love all of the different images! So please pop over to the blog and take a look.

This card is also my entry into the Sketch and Stash challenge as I have used Becky's sketch! and as Cupcake Crafts are going summery to this is my entry to their challenge.

Cards for the Sugar Bowl & Truly Scrumptious

Wow it's another hot day here in Norfolk and it's meant to get hotter ugghh..!! I am going with Hollie on a nursery trip to the Dinosaur Park on Wednesday and it's supposed to be at least 32degrees so not much looking forward to that really! She went and had an hour familiarising herself in her new class this morning and met her new teacher, we were allowed to stay but she was off with her friend so I think we'll be ok, even though she still insists she is staying in nursery!
Here is my card for the Sugar Bowl, it was a nice simple sketch this week, I've missed some weeks which I hate doing as the prizes are always so good, but the sketches look too complicated some weeks. I've used one of the gorjuss girls from set 1 (have you seen the new ones, think I'll be having a bit of a spend!!).and here is my card for the Truly Scrumptious challenge which is a lovely sketch and to use neglected stash, my neglected part of the card is this fabby image of Tilda ready to water the tomato plants!!!!! I've had this image for absolutely ages, she just seemed to work with the layout and colours really well.

Daddy had better start saving lol!!!!!!

Last night we went to Matthew's friends wedding reception, after a while the DJ announced that the bride was about to throw the bouquet and needed more females outside to catch it! I didn't bother but said the girls could go, I sat thinking to myself how funny would it be if they came in with the bouquet and guess what? They did!!!Don't they look pleased with themselves!?! We left the wedding and made it in time into town to watch the fab firework display which marks the start of the Festival weekend, wow they were good!
Today has been another hottie so we fished out the paddling pool (would like a bigger one but the water metre means too expensive) the girls had a blast especially with the dolphin which spurts a shower of water out of it's nose!!

I have got a couple of cards to show but will do that hopefully tomorrow. TTFN

Charisma Cards -Rubbernecker week!

This week is a special week at Charisma Cards as we are celebrating the exclusive that today the 25th June 2009 Rubbernecker are now shipping to the UK. Each of the design team were sent some stamps from the company to play with. Our brief was to obviously use our stamps and to create at least 2 items with them.
I have combined the first stamp that I received (the hat) with an image that I already had in my stash, I think this lady had a tough time decided which of her hats to actually wear! I would like to enter this for the Cupcake Craft sketch challenge. The next stamp is the sentiment which again I have used alongside an image from my stash, I thought it was just perfect for this image, and how true it is!!and with the last stamp I created this design paper by simple repeating the image onto white paper for the card and a white envelope for the bag-a-lope. I really do think black and white is very elegant, I have highlighted parts of the design with silver glitter glue but it doesn't show up in the picture.
The fabulous news is that there will be not 1 but 4 winners this week and everyone who takes part can have up to 4 entrys (new work please). There is no theme or sketch to work with, so anything goes this week!
Have fun and please check out the blog for more info about the Rubbernecker company and to see the fab creations from the rest of the design team.

We had a wonderful holiday, didn't want to come home!!! (loads of piccies)

Last Monday morning we were up and in the car at 4am heading towards Southampton to catch our 10am ferry over to the Isle of Wight. It doesn't seem at all possible that it was over a week ago! We made it to the ferry just in time and literally drove straight on!
We had the most wonderful time, with fabulous weather, I had to laugh when my sister texted me on our 2nd day asking how our weather was as they were getting torrential rain with thunder and lightening, we were getting sunburnt lol!!!
We did so much, as the island isn't that big every where so in reach, we stayed in Bambridge far right and it only took us just over an hour to get to Alum Bay on the far left to visit the Needles! We played a cool game of crazy golf and went on the beach at Shanklin
Tuesday we went to see the Needles at Alum Bay, here is the view going down the cliff in the chairs (it was pretty steep and there was a chilly wind coming off the sea)the famous Needles!
The coloured sands of the cliffs. We had a private beach at our holiday camp, so on Tuesday evening after tea we went for a wander, you can imagine it was ok going down but coming up was a struggle!! This is the view from the edge of the lawn areaHere are Lillie and Hollie ready to hit the beach! (one of my fave piccies) I think this is my fave piccie out of the 276 that I took!!!We went to Black Gang Chine theme park on Wednesday, where the girls look quite happy that they have just hung Daddy!and saying their prayers with the priest!Thursday we went to Sandown zoo, which wasn't all that big but neither was it expensive to get in. Apparantly the lions/tigers have been on tv. Then on Friday our last day we went for a wander on Sandown Pier, where the girls had fun on the rides on the end of the pier.followed by fun at Flamingo land, here the girls are feeding the wallabies, can you see the baby in the pouch?Lillie had just fed the brown wallaby, the white one was just hoping he would drop it!!After leaving the ferry we headed straight for Winchester and found James Martin's deli (tv chef my fave) obviously it was shut but I had to take a couple of piccies! So first stop on Saturday morning was back to the deli, it is just as it is on the 'Delicious' series he filmed from there, which I caught an episode of yesterday! Very compact and packed to the rafters! We had a drink and Matthew had an eccles cake which he said was "delicious" I had a yummy chocolate brownie and the girls had fancy buns as shown below! We finished the day and the holiday with a visit to Marwell zoo, omg did we walk miles or what!? Here are a couple of piccies of Matthews all time favourite Meerkats.and that's it, our holiday done for another year. Both Matthew and myself were quite sad, especially leaving the Isle of Wight as we had had such a lovely time. He really didn't want to go back to work yesterday and I didn't really want to do the school run, but heh hoh we did and now it's back to the norm!!

Last piccies of this super long post are off a frog which Matthew found on the lawn on Sunday as he bent down to pick up the peg that he had dropped, froggy was sitting right beside it!

That really is it (for now!!).

A Spoon Full of Sugar -challenge 57

At A Spoon Full of Sugar this week the theme is 'weddings' which is quite apt as we have a wedding reception to go to this weekend and a 'big posh' wedding to go to next weekend!
I have used a bride and groom die-cut and papers which I have had downloaded for ages. I am so annoyed that my printer is still not printing correctly even with a new cartridge, I'm getting horrizontal white lines through everything even after cleaning about a dozen times, which means I still can't print any more dp's off ggrrr....... anyhow I had enough to make my card.
here is a piccie of the inside as you can see I've made it a gift card to put some money in.Our sponsor this week is our very own design team member Nikki who has set up her own craft store Bunny Zoe Crafts who has donated a super cute Bildmalarna Mimo Fishing stamp and a variety of buttons.

Charisma Cardz -Diamonds are a girls best friend!

Claire chose the theme 'Diamonds are a girls best friend' for this weeks challenge over at Charisma Cardz. I wouldn't say they were my best friend, I'm far happier with my dress rings, that way I can match them to my outfits, and it also keeps hubby happy and his wallet fuller lol!!!
As with the papers in my A Spoon Full of Sugar card, I've also had this image for a long time received in a PIF, up until now I've just not known how to use it. But with the diamonds theme this week it was just perfect, I blinged her up with stick on diamonds from Poundland, I've not coloured her dress as I wasn't sure what colour or whether it actually needed it?

Please pop by the blog for details of the prize and to also see the rest of the design teams fabulous work.

I'm entering my card for the My Time to Craft challenge which is a sketch by Becky!

Charisma Cardz -Something Yummy!

The challenge at Charisma Cardz this week was down to Roxy and she has chosen the theme 'Something Yummy' oooo..... I like yummy things!
We were lucky enough to be sent some templates to work with from this weeks sponsor (see prize details below), so I chose the muffin/cupcake. I made the case using a download floral backing paper and drew on the lines (which don't look all that straight or good but give effect I guess) decorated this with ribbon and a bow to take away the plainness, then went mad with the flowersoft lol!!! But it really does look very effective! I've had to bend the card about a bit to get it to stand up as it is a little top heavy (like me lol!). We are sponsored this week by The Cutting Cafe and th lucky winner will receive the downloadable template below and also choose 3 more of their choice from the shop! Please drop by the blog and check out the rest of the design teams yummy offerings.

A couple of cards a few challenges!

My first card is made using Becky's fab sketch from Sketch & Stash, this Sugar Nellie Maggie stamp has been stashed away in my box for ages so thought it was about time I inked her up again! She's dressed and ready for the party! I couldn't believe it when I came accross the scrap of ribbon in my ribbon bag, it matches the papers perfectly. I have used the colour combo from Cupcake Crafts and also think I can get away with this as another entry into Colour Create's 'colours of the rainbow' challenge! This next card passes for the 'under pressure' challenge from One Stop Craft as I have used the strip of embossed paper! The cottage image is decoupaged but it doesn't really show up on the piccie. I made this for a friend who has just moved house (obviously!).Off to carry on wrapping Father's Day pressie's, trying to get ahead of things although I'm having problems locating Father-in-laws bird clock, beginning to wonder if he had it for his birthday back in March lol!!!!
